A pancake of all things

Some writing exercises - self-given- about a certain phrase. The original was "This bloody pancake only has one quarter", but well, I heard otherwise :D And had a lot of fun doing this.

“This bloody pancake only has one corner!”
       He exclaimed
Now strange angles of a pancake haunt his dreams
With hideous whistlings and strange fears

***

“This bloody pancake only has one corner!”
       He exclaimed

The dishes were not washed
And there was nowhere to put the jam
The apples had gone blue of cold
Our hands stuck to the table with honey

We ate one-cornered pancakes until we were full
And filled the holes of the world with flour and eggs.

***

“This bloody pancake only has one corner!”
He exclaimed.
And we were cornered,

With no way out.

***

“This bloody pancake only has one corner!"
I said, “Give it to me!”
And threw it off the balcony
In the most elegant way I could imagine.
It took wing and flew, the seagulls after it,
all across the sky and on beyond the rooftops towards the sea.

***

“This bloody pancake only has one corner!"
And he was elegant as hell,
           And just as rude,
An apparition of lace handkerchiefs, gold buttons,
And apparently triangular pancakes.
“To hell with it,” I thought, “I’ll eat it all,
and may you roll me home on the moon,
these pancakes are bloody good.”

***

“This bloody pancake only has one corner!”
“Oh, that’s good! Excellent! Amazing!
What use of words!
Now turn them over just a little bit.
Yessss!
The world is not yet ready for this!
That's true, that's true.

Now you won’t ever have to say a thing!”

  1. Need on kõik nii lahedad! Hea, et jagasid. Mulle eriti kolmas meeldib nii mõnusalt lööv.

    1. Minu lemmik on neljas. Ma kujutan äärmiselt elavalt ette seda elegantset randmeliigutust, millega pannkook taevasse heita, ja kuidas kõik linna linnud sellele laperdavale ilmutisele järele põrutavad.
      Tänan :)
